WARNING! Possibly upsetting pictures ahead

Ava has been so incredibly happy the last few days. Not that she was never a happy baby before, but her laughing and smiling has increased tenfold since she's recovered from HFMD. Mike and I are having somuch fun entertaining/being entertained by her.

She's been running around laughing so hard she falls over, is back into making her usual 3820971 messes every day, and is enjoying many games of hide-and-seek. Woo!

Now, I am going to post a photo of her with hand-foot-mouth disease at its worst. She had a very severe case and was actually prescribed an antibiotic and herpes cream to try and help clear things up. I'm going to warn you, it's pretty scary looking, but I feel like I need to document it. I had a very hard time finding photos of HFMD on the internet, and was worried that it was something more severe when I came up empty-handed in my image search. So, here goes.

Okay, so this picture isn't as scary as it is funny once you get past the initial shock of it. I think she looks like some crazed t-rex. Her bed head was hilarious that day, and her new thing is to walk around with her arm gimped like that. Lordy. But back to the HFMD. As you can see, there are numerous blisters on the outside of her mouth. The blisters were aplenty on the inside, too. Her top gums were so swollen we couldn't even see her teeth. It was awful. But, even though she was extremely uncomfortable, she was still havin' fun!

I didn't know she was suffering with that! That's what the sheep get over here and they kill them b/c everyone's so worried about mad cow disease. Poor Ava! She has grown so much, though, and is sooo sooo cute! Glad she's all better now! xx
