I went to a local craft fair called 'Briar Patch' on Saturday with my mother- and sister-in-law. I wasn't expecting to find anything, but I stumbled upon some really great stuff. One woman, Karlee Fuchs, makes bags of all sizes and kinds using the most beautifully vibrant fabrics I have ever seen. I bought two small "accessory bags" for my diaper bag: one to hold diapers and wipes and the other a pacifier. Now, I've always had a little soft spot for crafts, but I tend to lack the imagination needed to make my own creations - I would much rather copy someone else's patterns and make little adjustments to make it unique. Anyway, seeing all of this amazing stuff sparked a new interest in crafts and I've spent the last couple of days scouring the internet for resources and ideas. Here are a couple of great websites to check out for sewing, fabric, and ideas:

As much as I would love to get started on things immediately, school and the upcoming Ava do not leave me much time. However, there are several small projects, mostly things for the baby, that I am planning on getting my hands dirty with very soon. I will be sure to post any pictures of my projects. :)
On another note, things have been slowly but surely coming together with the nursery. We have pretty much everything we need, minus a few things, and now it's just cleaning things out and setting up. I'll be sure to post pictures of the nursery once it's finished, too. For now, though, here is a picture of my adorable husband "playing" legos in the nursery - sorry babe, I just had to take a picture (and post it!).
He's a huge lego fan, and has an impressive collection from his childhood. He was a little bummed when we found out we're having a girl, he thought he wouldn't be able to share his legos with her. But nope! Who would have thought that he would receive a couple of girl lego sets for his birthday to play with her? No worries, daddy.

Umm, I think Mike needs to start collecting barbies! They would be more desirable for his little girl!
